Most anti humanist thinkers (Darwin, Nietzsche, Foucault, cognitive scientists) weaken human exceptionalism — but they leave something intact:
• rationality
• creativity
• ethics
• consciousness
• culture
• meaning
Dean leaves nothing.
For him:
Humans are not “like” monkeys. Humans are monkeys — full stop — performing more elaborate versions of the same behaviors.
There is no special human essence, no higher faculty, no transcendence. This is anti humanism with zero remainder.
